ICC & Women Cell

The Women’s Cell and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at Birsa Munda College work together to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all members of the campus community. Both bodies are dedicated to addressing gender-related issues, promoting equality, and ensuring the well-being and dignity of every individual.

The Women’s Cell serves as a platform to address gender-specific concerns and advocate for women’s welfare. Committed to fostering a supportive environment, the Cell organizes awareness programs, provides support services, and empowers women to participate actively in campus life. Notable initiatives include:

  • A session on “Menstruation Hygiene”, aimed at promoting awareness and healthy practices.
  • Installation of a sanitary vending machine with an incineration system, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), to ensure easy access to hygiene products and sustainability.

Through its efforts, the Women’s Cell encourages women to voice their concerns and contributes to their holistic development and active participation in college life.

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is established as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013. Its primary purpose is to address and resolve complaints related to sexual harassment and discrimination. The ICC is responsible for:

  • Receiving complaints, conducting impartial inquiries, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to uphold justice and safety.
  • Organizing workshops and awareness campaigns to educate the campus community about sexual harassment prevention and redressal mechanisms.
  • Providing emotional and logistical support to individuals affected by harassment or discrimination.

Together, the Women’s Cell and ICC are pillars of support at Birsa Munda College, working tirelessly to promote gender equality, prevent harassment, and create a secure and inclusive space where all individuals can thrive. Their collaborative efforts reflect the college’s commitment to fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and empowerment.
